Don't date a girl who reads →
… because girls who read are the storytellers. You with the Joyce, you with the Nabokov, you with the Woolf. You there in the library, on the platform of the metro, you in the corner of the café, you in the window of your room. You, who make my life so god damned difficult. By Hugh Schofield BBC News, Paris “France is gearing up for a report on one of the country’s biggest medical scandals of recent years. 7 Books We Lost to History That Would Have Changed... →
By Jacopo della Quercia “The vast majority of the knowledge humans have assembled over the centuries, has been lost. The world’s geniuses either kept their revelations to themselves and then died, or else they put it down on paper which has long since rotted or burned or been used to line some parakeet’s cage. Obviously we’ll never know what great books have been...

evaluations from the bfa faculty came in the mail...
gawd i feel like a failure. it was hard enough having to talk to them about it myself in person at the end of the semester, but i ended up being the person who spoke with the most criticism for myself.  it’s easier to take harsh criticism if you are the one pointing it out about yourself. and now i have 6 written ones from each person with at least half a page of what each of them...

They Went Home
by Maya Angelou They went home and told their wives,      that never once in all their lives,      had they known a girl like me.
