Secret cinema found beneath Paris
In September 2004, French police discovered a hidden chamber in the catacombs under Paris. It contained a full-sized movie screen, projection equipment, a bar, a pressure cooker for making couscous, a professionally installed electricity system, and at least three phone lines. Movies ranged from 1950s noir classics to recent thrillers.
When the police returned three days later, the phone and power lines had been cut and there was a note on the floor: “Do not try to find us.” (via)

i love hearing the drunken french sing at the top of their lungs at 3 AM in the morning whilst i’m up studying french.
bahahaha.
most would be annoyed, but it makes for a lively time.
it’s like when you go to study for a cafe. you want to be alone whilst in company.

Summer Reading Challenge
The goal is to complete 15-20 books by summer’s end. At least 10 cannot be plays that I read to find monologue material for next year, including Shakespeare or whatever else I read for pleasure. And at least one must be in French! This will most likely end up being The Little Prince (if so, I will read it in French first, and then once again in English to make sure I fully understand it).
I started both 1984 and Scarlet Letter, but I’ve misplaced them somewhere… :/

DINNER tomorrow! Making this sans pesto, garnishing it with some raw pine nuts, and then pairing it with the wilted kale salad! :) Quite excited to try this zucchini “pasta.” If I like this, I’ll be making a shit ton of “pasta” next year at school!
Purple Pasta with Walnut Pesto & Tenderstem Broccoli
“This recipe was inspired by a picture of pink pasta I saw on the internet. Here I use beetroot juice to colour the courgette which isn’t purely asthetic, it sweetens and gives a nice subtle flavour. This recipe will make a huge plate full so is great to serve and enjoy between 2 people, healthy comfort food!”
