Women in Theatre: Zoe Caldwell, actress
Taped: 06/30/2006. Australian-born Zoe Caldwell has four Tony Awards for her roles in Slapstick Tragedy, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, Medea, and Master Class. She reveals her strategy as a young actress was to never stay at one company for too long, to keep moving around and to work with different people using different materials for different audiences. She explains, “That was for my own selfish skills and need to not become stale.” The acclaimed television series ‘Women in Theatre’ provides a unique look into the lives of some of the gifted women who create and sustain theatre in the United States — with major directors, designers, actors, lyricists, composers and producers — conducted by Linda Winer, theatre critic for Newsday. The series’ theme song is “The Glamorous Life” from ‘A Little Night Music’ by Stephen Sondheim, performed by Alex Rybeck, noted pianist and music director. Kennedy Caughell - Ready To Be Loved (Edges) - Elon University
i think she’s graduating from Elon this year. an amazing talent. and was a definite sweetheart the day i visited Elon 2 years ago to audition for their program. i didn’t enjoy the audition or my experience there much at all….i remember feeling super duper out of place, but i do remember her of all the people i met that day. actually the only one.
april says she learned it in an hour
